Peru PESTLE Insights – A Macroeconomic Outlook Report

The northwestern region of Peru is the best performing region. Lima district, Piura and La Libertad together generated 51.6% of Peru’s total GDP in 2020 and comprised 44.7% of the population in 2017

Mining, manufacturing and utilities contributed 26.6% to the country’s gross value added (GVA) in 2020, followed by wholesale, retail and hotels (15.7%) and financial intermediation, real estate and business activities (10.7%). In nominal terms, the three sectors are expected to grow by 6.2%, 4.4% and 7.0%, respectively, in 2021.

The overall SPBLPGPT index exhibited a rising trend over last year. As of June 18, 2021, the SPBLPGPT index stood at 18,695.6, compared to 16,948 on June 18, 2020
